Steve Torso – Managing Director

Steve Torso is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Wholesale Investor. Since launching in late 2008, Wholesale Investor has become Australia’s largest Capital Raising platform, showcasing Private, Pre-IPO and ASX Listed companies to over 16,100 high net worth and professional investors.

Steve is a regular contributor to the media on the Private investment space, including the AFR, BRW, Sydney Morning Herald, Startup Smart, Smart Company Sky Business Switzer and Switzer.com.au.

Steve is also considered an opinion leader for Companies who are seeking to raise capital. He has been a keynote presenter at events for the Australian Stock Exchange, Macquarie University, UTS, Queensland Government, WA Chamber of Commerce, AusBiotech, Thomson Reuters, Commercialisation Australia, DLA Piper and PwC.

Domenic Carosa – Non Executive Director

Domenic Carosa is Non Executive Chairman of Dominet Digital Corporation Pty Ltd, a boutique internet investment group and CEO of global mobile entertainment company CrowdMobile.com (ASX: CM8). He is co-founder & Chairman of Future Capital Development Fund Pty Ltd (a registered Pooled Development Fund). Future Capital has successfully raised in excess of A$8M in patient equity capital in recent years, invested in 14 early stage investees. Domenic was previously the co-founder and Group CEO of ASX-listed destra Corporation Ltd (ASX: DES), which was the largest independent media and entertainment company in Australia with revenues of over A$100m. He stepped aside from destra in April 2008.

With over 20 years experience in business and technology, Domenic has built a reputation as a leader in the Internet space by building one of Australia’s largest independent digital music websites, MP3.com.au in the late 90’s, and building from scratch, Australia’s second largest virtual web hosting/domain companies which he sold for A$25m in 2005-06.Domenic is past Chairman of the Internet Industry Association (IIA) and holds a Masters of Entrepreneurship & Innovation (MEI) from Swinburne University.

Hein Vogel – Non Executive Director

Hein is a senior member of the Investec Emerging Companies division at Investec Australia Limited.

He joined Investec in 2010 and has 15+ years experience advising on mergers & acquisitions, capital raisings, initial public offerings, structuring and commercial transactions. Hein has also been welcomed as a solicitor Australia and South Africa, working in major law firms (Allens and Norton Rose).

Prior to this, Hein’s studied and received qualifications in B.Com (Accounting & Law), LLB (Cum Laude), B.Com (Hons) (Tax).

Reuben Buchanan – Non Executive Director

Reuben co-founded Wholesale Investor in 2008 with Steve Torso. He has 20 years’ experience in the investment, stock market and financial media industry.

In 2002 he founded Wealth Creator Magazine, a highly regarded business and investment publication which he sold in 2005.
Reuben then worked with Integral Capital Group until 2010 where he participated in over $200m in transactions. He also established MBE Education in 2007 to educate SME’s on capital raising and exit strategies. MBE was sold in 2011.

He then established Axstra Capital in 2010 which specialises in private, pre-IPO and IPO raisings. Axstra Capital has raised over $100m for its clients in the last 5 years.

Reuben is regarded as an expert in private capital raisings and has spoken for groups including: ASX; CPA; NRL, RMIT University, Sydney University, AIM, Commonwealth Bank; NSW State Govt; CSIRO, Ausbiotech & Ashust Lawyers. Reuben has been interviewed about raising capital and exit by the Financial Review, Daily Telegraph, Courier Mail, Sky Business, Switzer and more.

Tim Trumper – Advisor

Tim is a Publishing and Media specialist with over 20 years hands-on experience. Tim is the Director of Real Insurance and Communications for Commerce. He is the former Commercial Director at PBL Media and ACP Magazines, was Chairman of the Magazine Publishes of Australia, and was CEO of Time Inc Australia. Tim currently sits on the Board of the Best of the Best Foundation.

James Campbell – Business Development

James has been working with Wholesale Investor since 2012, during which time he has held the roles of Senior Business Development Manager and is currently the Head of Business Development. During this time, James has been critical to building Wholesale Investor’s international presence, having spent the past 3 years expanding the business in New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.

James has over 6 years of experience working in both the financial services and property sectors at a boutique Sydney stockbroking firm and an international commercial real estate firm. Prior to this, James completed a Bachelor of Property Economics (BPropEc) from the University of Technology, Sydney as well as a Master of Finance (MFin) from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is particularly passionate about new technologies, specifically in fintech, IOT and virtual/augmented reality, along with small cap ASX listed companies.

Away from the office, James enjoys playing and watching any type of sport, dining out and exploring the world.
