Speech-to-text innovator Ai-Media today announced the appointment of Ms Deanne Weir as Chairman of the fast-growing Australian-owned business. Ms Weir, currently Non-Executive Director, succeeds founding Chairman Mr John Martin who will become Non-Executive Director.
Ai-Media is a private enterprise that is developing commercial technologies while remaining dedicated to its founding goal of ending the social, educational and vocational exclusion of people with disability. The company this week celebrates ten years in business.
“We are delighted John will continue to work with us as a Director,” Ms Weir said. “John has led us through an exciting period of change and growth, in Australia and overseas, after joining as Chairman in 2010.”
Ai-Media today announced it had won a five-year captioning contract with the Nine Network, its first in the free-to-air TV sector. Ai-Media is also the captioning provider to subscription TV leader Foxtel, Ai-Media’s founding client, and other leading subscription television channels.
Ai-Media recently completed phase one of a two stage capital raising to help fund its expansion, including into overseas markets.
Ms Weir said: “Ai-Media is emerging as a global leader for speech-to-text solutions in the workplace, education, and in broadcast entertainment, using innovative online technologies. We are very excited about the growth of our sustainable solutions in the workplace, and in schools, higher and further education.”
