Alcidion Group Limited is set to provide Monash Health with a mobile task management solution after the two companies signed an agreement worth $389,000.
The contract is good for three years, but the parties have an option to extend the contract for up two more years, with a one-year period for each extension. Such extension would increase the value of the contract to $500,000.
Under the agreement, Alcidion will provide Monash Health with mobile clinical management services through the Miya Smartpage solution. The service is expected to increase the productivity of the clinical staff of Monash while improving patient care through two-way instant communications.
Monash Health is a public hospital network in Southern Melbourne that serves approximately 1.4 million people. Included in its network are the Monash Children’s Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Kingston Centre and Moorabbin Hospital.
Alcidion Group is a company providing intelligence informatics software in Australia and New Zealand. The company’s Miya Solution consists of Miya ED, Miya Patient Flow, Miya Clinicals and Miya Clinic.
The task management solution will allow clinical staff to have instant access to clinical summaries and other data of patients. As such, they will be able to make real-time decisions that will affect the well-being of the patients. There is usually a reduced amount of staff on duty during nighttime, but they will still be able to provide more efficient services even when faced with high patient occupancy.
‘We’re delighted to be working with Monash Health to help them deliver efficient and effective healthcare to the Southern Metropolitan Melbourne community. Our MIYA Smartpage solution will provide their clinical staff with communication and workflow tools that make it faster and simpler for them to do their job, and continue to deliver the very best patient care during a hospital’s most vulnerable time – the night,” Alcidion CEO Ray Blight said.
Monash Health COO Martin Keogh stressed the importance of instituting reforms at Monash Health. The provision of after-hours care is considered a priority reform.
“The Miya SmartPage system aims to eliminate many of the communication and task allocation barriers faced by our after-hours clinical teams. It supports a collaborative working environment and provides our staff the tools necessary to deliver safe, quality and timely patient care 24 hours a day,” Keogh said.
