Sydney, October 2nd 2013

On Thursday night, at the Australian Cleantech Competition gala dinner, Melbourne lighting control technology start-up, Organic Response, took out the Built Environment Cleantech Award.

The Cleantech Competition aims to profile Australian innovations in the clean technology space, by offering networking opportunities, mentorship support and introductions to investors from the Asia Pacific region.

One of eight finalists, Organic Response competed against five other businesses in the Built Environment category.

The award follows on the Company’s success at the Australian ICT industry’s iAwards earlier this year, where it was awarded the Start Up Award and took out the top gong, the Inspiration Award.  The Company will represent Australia at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) to be held in Hong Kong next month.

The Company, which is also the recipient of an Early Stage Commercialisation Grant from Commercialisation Australia, has developed a revolutionary new lighting control technology, based entirely on Distributed Intelligence.  The system delivers significant energy savings and improves the quality of lighting for building occupants. Given that the technology is integrated into light fittings prior to delivery to the end customer, no additional design, hardware, wiring or commissioning is required to install, thereby dramatically reducing the cost and complexity that, until now, has accompanied high performance commercial lighting control solutions.

Organic Response has recently signed strategic technology agreements with leading lighting manufacturers in Australia, the UK and the Netherlands.  These partners offer a range of Organic Response Enabled lighting solutions to the market. A list of these partners, and their contact details can be found at www.organicresponse.com.au.
