Numen is a Latin word that means the spirit or divine power within an object or place. The system is designed for the Built World and comprises edge devices for specialised data acquisition and a cloud-based data intelligence platform. Numen also offers multiple points of user interface to platform analytics – web, app and direct API.

The work required to create the Numen system has been incredibly complex and technically challenging, with $11.5m AUD invested since June 2015 in research, development and capability. The CSIRO has been a highly valued collaborator throughout this period and has added considerable IP, knowledge and expertise to the project. This relationship continues to flourish today.

Numen has had a number of progressing paid trials in both in Australia, UK and EU. Insurance Australia Group (IAG), McDonald’s Restaurants, CSIRO, Drax Power are currently the most advanced with a progressing pipeline including IOT Systems, SSE, Jacobs Engineering, BMW, PRO9 and Veolia.

Ecocentric are currently in the process of upgrading the Numen installation at the University of Reading campus and are hoping that this installation will help them to further expand their business within the UK and European markets.

Ecocentric has engaged with McDonald’s Restaurants in Perth and the opportunity for trial has been agreed. Numen has been installed at two new restaurant sites at service centres on the Forrest Hwy Baldivis WA. With 900 stores in Australia and over 50,000 stores internationally, McDonald’s Restaurants very clearly represent a strong proliferation opportunity.
