Pacific Simulators has recently sold its second Airbus A320 simulator to another flight school. But unlike the first one, which went to the other side of the world in Miami, Florida, this one has been sold to a New Zealand flight school. Whilst preferring anonymity until the EuroJet PS4.5 is delivered in March 2018, the flight school will be the only school in NZ to be capable of delivering on-site jet transition or multi-crew training to domestic and international students.
With the swelling demand for airline pilots, NZ, Australia, Western Europe and the USA are seen as ‘safe havens’ and provide ‘best practice’ for creating the best pilots money can buy. However, the advantages with NZ and Australia are the weaker exchange rates compared to the Euro and the Greenback. By adding the Airbus flight simulator the school has now closed the last hole in the training package and can provide pilots back to potential employers that are ‘airline-ready’ at a better price point.
The device is valued at over $600,000 and similar to the ProJet PS4.5, is made from actual A320 parts sourced from the aircraft boneyards in the US.
