Funding.com.au’s founder and CEO Jack O’Reilly was recently named CEO of the Year 2018 at the Young Leaders in Finance Awards in Sydney.
The prestigious awards program uncovers the leading young 30 and under executives, entrepreneurs and professionals in the banking, financial advice, funds management, accounting, superannuation, mortgages and insurance sectors.
Funding.com.au is pleased to announce its lending volumes have increased over 400% over the last 12 months.
This is attributed to strong investor demand for mortgage backed investments and a drive for loans originated via the companies broker channels.
Investors such as individuals, companies and self-managed super funds invest from as little as $5,000 directly into a single stand-alone mortgage. Funding.com.au has also settled its first loan with an institutional funder evidencing the type of investors interested in mortgages.
The RBA has warned that once the royal commission’s final report is released, lending conditions may tighten further.
If that anticipated tightening does play out, non-banks and brokers will be in even greater demand by borrowers who don’t fit the banks’ cookie-cutter requirements.
Funding.com.au has already seen an uplift in volume through its broker channel, including from vanilla-type borrowers who previously would have been accepted by the major banks but are now being turned away. These borrowers include renovators, small developers, new home buyers and refinancers.

David has over 4 years direct experience in mortgage investments and online investment platforms having previously been a senior executive at Lendinvest.com in the UK.
Prior to that, David held roles in project management and operations within top tier global investment banking firms in London for 8 years.
