On Wednesday night Jim O’Dea, President of Highfields and District Business Group (HDBC) announced that Highfields Community Heart; Project 2020 will be the first Catalyst Infrastructure Project listed on a new national platform for connecting collaborative capital to economic growth and jobs in regional Australia.

This new platform an initiative of Wholesale Investor, Australasia’s leading private investment platform connecting innovative private, pre-IPO & listed companies with high net worth and professional investors looking for investment opportunities. Wholesale Investor and Paul Niederer, founder of Raiseworth, has been working with the HDBC from the start of the Highfields Community Heart initiative in July 2016. The idea for a new investment platform for Catalyst Infrastructure to assist regional communities in attracting investment for economic development and local employment growth came out of the 2013 Sustainable Economic Growth for Regional Australia (SEGRA) conference. The investment platform and has developed over the last four years in collaboration with Southern Cross University and regional economic development practitioners leading to tonight’s launch.

At the Project update event on Wednesday night, Paul Niederer, one of world’s leading authorities in equity based crowdfunding, collaborative funding, investor aggregation and trust based block-chain driven systems, spoke about Wholesale Investor’s unique capacity in collaborative investment management and how it brings together public, private and not for profit investment to local public catalyst infrastructure. “This is an exciting first, having worked in capital raising for over 20 years I am pleased to be part of this national best practice initiative to ensure jobs and economic growth in regional communities” said Paul Niederer.

“It is important to acknowledge the work of the local committee in leading this breakthrough approach that seeks to grow the unique strengths of their community as part of a region wide network of innovation that is currently emerging on the Darling Downs. This community driven initiative has attracted interest from national government, Universities, local councils and not for profit organisations. Experience has shown these big ideas will only come to fruition if there is passion, leadership and commitment on the ground. The work of HBDC in bringing this opportunity to Highfields and more importantly being a demonstration project for other communities across regional Australia needs to be commended” said Paul Niederer.
