Holographic-Tech Startup, 8i, Raises $27m to Create Holo

Virtual and augmented reality firm 8i has announced that it has raised $27 million from media, tech and telecommunications strategic investors. 8i has also confirmed its release of Holo, a consumer mobile reality app that will allow people to a library of hologram-like moving images of celebrities and characters, which could be placed in real-world environments, viewed and shared on a supported mobile device.
