KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • MedAdvisors has taken a strategic move to expand globally with the appointment of Jamal Butt in the UK and Keith Kiarsis in the US.
  • The company is expanding globally and has taken on the challenge of making its presence felt in the US and UK due to the significant market potential for digital medication management.
  • The world-class medication management platform of MedAdvisors is expected to deliver significant benefits to patients and healthcare providers in terms of patient engagement.

MedAdvisor Limited of Australia is set to expand its business overseas with the appointment of two regional advisors in the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK). The appointments are expected to strategically position the company in these areas through the identification and development of potential customers and partners.

Appointed were Jamal Butt who previously worked with Walgreens Boots Alliance as Head of Pharmacy, and Keith Kiarsis who previously worked with Adheris Health as a senior executive.

Both appointments are considered significant considering the opportunities offered by both markets. Demand for new technology on digital medication management is expected to rise in the said areas due to the increasing number of patients and with the cost of healthcare becoming more expensive.

“When thinking about expanding a business into another country, finding the right people with excellent local connections and experience is crucial, and in that respect, we are fortunate to have Mr. Kiarsis and Mr. Butt on board,” said Saurabh Mishra, International Business Development Manager of MedAdvisor. Butt and Kiarsis will work closely with Mishra.

Butt is a qualified pharmacist with extensive experience in the healthcare sector. He also headed the Healthcare Solution of UK’s largest retail pharmacy, Boots UK. He previously worked with Celesio UK as Head of Healthcare Services and Business Development.

Kiarsis, on the other hand, did not only graduate from Harvard but he also worked at the Harvard Medical School. He has vast experience in the promotion of medication adherence in the US and Australia.

“Expansion beyond the Australian market is a key part of our growth strategy and our track record in Australia is highly regarded by companies internationally. We are pleased to have attracted such high calibre industry players and we are excited to move forward and establish our go-to-market strategy into the US and UK markets,” MedAdvisor CEO Robert Read said.
