  • NTT is the fifth largest telecommunications company in the world, with about 5 times the revenue of Telstra1

Mobilicom Limited (Mobilicom) is pleased to announce that it has received new purchase orders from Japanese telecommunications giant, Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corporation (NTT), exceeding $200,000. In addition, NTT has indicated that it expects to place multiple orders per year.

The purchase orders will see kits from Mobilicom, each including approximately ten of its MCU products, serving the Japanese Self Defense Forces (SDF) for disaster relief initiatives across the country. The SDF is comprised of ground, naval and air divisions, with each division having a presence across each of the cities and prefectures in Japan. This provides Mobilicom with a very large potential sales magnitude with NTT, given the opportunity to deploy a kit within each SDF unit, across its various divisions and geographies.

NTT is the fifth largest telecommunications company in the world¹, as well as the third largest publicly traded company in Japan after Toyota and MUFG2. It is ranked 65th in Fortune Global 500 and listed on the Tokyo, Osaka, New York and London stock exchanges.

The order from NTT is another example of ongoing deployments of Mobile MESH networks using Mobilicom’s MCU products. Mobilicom’s unique solution is designed for quick deployment by NTT in challenging environments, serving mobile teams and platforms by enabling broadband video and data sharing for first responders and homeland security operations. It can be deployed within vehicles, mobile command posts, trees and masts to enable private secured communications.

Mobilicom CEO Oren Elkayam commented: “Following a rigorous testing and demonstration process with NTT, it is an exciting achievement for us to be selling these kit solutions to NTT for its ongoing initiative with the SDF. We are embarking on an effort to extend this across the various SDF units throughout Japan, and therefore multiply sales of these kits as an ongoing business.”
