“Porphyry copper mines are the “Princes” of copper mines – they supply at least 65% of the world’s copper (see “Sillitoe”, 2010), and they are usually large in area and are long life mines.
An example of a major long life porphyry copper mine is Rio Tinto’s Bingham Canyon mine in USA (pictured below), which Rio plans to mine beyond 2050.
MML has discovered three (3) large porphyry copper gold molybdenum deposits on its tenements in North Queensland. MML is seeking to raise funds to drill out these deposits to determine their size and metal grade.
In any exploration programme it is essential to lower the odds for success as much as possible. MML seeks to achieve this by its discovery of three large porphyry deposits, and by its discovery of three copper porphyry prospects. The odds of one of these 6 prospects becoming a mine are very high.
It is also essential to increase the potential reward as much as possible by targeting deposits that are usually very valuable – porphyry copper deposits are usually large long life mines that can be mined by low cost bulk mining methods.
MML’s 3 deposits also contain gold and molybdenum which add value to these deposits.
MML is seeking to raise $2.0 million by the issue of shares at 10 c each, which allows a significant shareholding to be acquired for a relatively small outlay of investment funds”
