OpenDNA & Epoch Times MoU Set to Offer Its 20 Million Readers with Better Tailored Reader Content Using Artificial Intelligence Technologies

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between OpenDNA and The Epoch Times is expected to provide a more personalised service to the newspaper company’s readers.

OpenDNA is an artificial intelligence company based in Australia while The Epoch Times is a multi-language newspaper based in New York City that is published in 21 languages all over 35 countries.

Under the MOU, OpenDNA will use its artificial intelligence services to gather the insights of millions of subscribers and online readers of The Epoch Times to help the newspaper deliver a more personalised news content for its readers.

“We are extremely proud and excited to work with a publisher of the calibre of Epoch Times, whose purpose and values are very much aligned to our own, specifically putting the individual reader first,” OpenDNA Managing Director and CEO Jay Shah said.

Shah said this is a massive opportunity for OpenDNA considering the 20 million readers of The Epoch Times. He said the company’s technology will help facilitate the continued growth of the newspaper’s readership as it gets a better insight of its readers. Providing personalised content based on the readers’ likes and dislikes is expected to result in higher reader retention and in the process more revenue for the newspaper.

With the MOU, OpenDNA will be able to integrate its technology into the digital platform of The Epoch Times for a 90-day period. This will allow the newspaper to deliver personalised and tailor-made news and advertising to individual readers during the said period.

Both parties have agreed to enter into a customer agreement once the trial period is deemed successful. The signing of an ongoing agreement will entitle OpenDNA to a percentage of the revenues derived by the newspaper not only from First Party Data Insights but also from advertising and the user-based licensing fees.
