Power Ledger is a world leading blockchain energy company solving the cost of high rising electricity, through enabling peer-to-peer (P2P) electricity sharing. Power Ledger based in Perth, WA is using innovative blockchain technology to engineer this solution and just closed Australia’s first Initial Coin Offering (ICO) at $34 million.
The past year, in particular the past quarter, has been both successful and very eventful for the company adding major energy retailer, Origin Energy, to their solar energy P2P trials; the commencing of commercial operation of the technology platform in WA’s White Gum Valley development; and awarding of a Australian Government $8 million project grant to the City of Fremantle which will be utilising Power Ledger’s platform.
Internationally, Power Ledger partnered up with Tech Mahindra in India on Microgrids as a Service, signed an agreement alongside the Liechtenstein Institute for Strategic Development to bring P2P renewable energy to Europe in 2019; and partnered with BCPG to bring P2P renewable energy to Thailand. Power Ledger opened up the new year with becoming a Top 3 finalist in the international Consumer Electronics Show (CES)’s Extreme Tech Challenge 2018 in Las Vegas, which will find them flying to Richard Branson’s Neckler Island to pitch for the number one tech venture of 2018.
