The Pulse Receives Major Funding Under Government Innovation Programme

Award-winning Sydney-based creative and technology agency Experience The Pulse today announced a significant funding investment from the Federal Government’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme. The Accelerating Commercialisation grant of $559,862 will support a $1.1M project. It was awarded against an extremely competitive and extensive field in recognition of The Pulse’s ‘Pulse IQ’ platform, the world’s first collaborative virtual reality platform for education and training.
The grant has been awarded to assist The Pulse to commercialise the platform which has the potential to revolutionise education and training on a global scale. The Pulse IQ is a Virtual Reality software platform that allows participants to go beyond the textbook or boardroom to experience learning in a new and highly engaging way, furthering crucial STEM education programs. Developed and created in Sydney with a global outlook, The Pulse IQ is the first learning platform that enables participants to interact and collaborate with their peers in a virtual space.
The platform allows for content to be synced to multiple headsets through a teacher/facilitator controlled tablet, allowing visibility of all individual and group activities. Managing Director of The Pulse Brett Heil said the funding was a recognition of the ground-breaking work being carried out across the VR and AR field by his team. “We are incredibly honoured to have been selected by The Government to bring this product to market. The last twelve months, in particular, have seen a huge amount of anticipation around the potential of virtual reality.

The Entrepreneurs’ Programme aims to help Australian entrepreneurs, researchers, inventors, start-ups, commercialisation offices and small and medium enterprises address the challenges associated with commercialising novel intellectual property in the form of new products, processes or services.
