On 21st August the Relivit Board appointed Mark Dunn as group Managing Director. Mark takes over the reins following the tragic death of Gareth Williamson, who passed away in early August following his battle with cancer.

As Relivit’s cofounder, Mark has unparalleled knowledge of the product. Mark also has extensive engineering and management experience, making him the ideal choice to lead the company successfully through its final phase of fund raising and plant construction.

It was Gareth’s burning desire to progress Relivit to operational success. The Relivit team believe that there is no better way to honour him than by ensuring his vision becomes a reality in 2014. Mark’s appointment provides the continuity necessary to make this happen.

A little more about Mark Dunn

After qualifying with an engineering degree from Auckland University in 1985, Mark took up a position in the Middle East with Dubai Aluminium – an adventure that was to last eight hot years and two wars. During that time he worked on a variety of projects to improve efficiencies, embed new technologies, a major plant expansion and the development of new smelting technology in partnership with Comalco.

Mark then joined Comalco in Melbourne to work on its revolutionary drained cathode project, before branching out into his own projects in 2005, including property developments and technology start-ups.

In 2008 Mark started a Masters of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MEI) at Swinburne University of Technology, where he met Gareth Williamson and went on to forge the partnership that was to create and launch Relivit.  Mark completed his MEI in 2011, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors course in 2012.
