Advanced materials company, First Graphite Limited (“FGR” or “the Company”) (ASX: FGR) is pleased to advise an update on its attendance at the IDTechEx Conference.

The annual IDTechEx Conference in Santa Clara each November, is an important gathering of companies and parties with interests in a wide range of advanced technologies including but not limited to electric vehicles, energy storage devices, advanced materials, IoT (Internet of Things), 3D printing and conductive inks. Many of these areas of technology stand to benefit from the use of graphene in their devices and products, and thus it is important for First Graphite to have strong representation at this conference. This year’s conference was attended by some 3,500 delegates and had more than 220 companies on display.

FGR arranged for presentations to be made by its collaboration partners, University of Adelaide, Flinders University and Swinburne University of Technology. The Company will make the presentations made by the above parties available on its website during this week.

Typically, conferences of this type enable your company’s personnel to meet a wide range of people. Some are promoters and competitors, and some are scientists, but the persons of greatest interest to FGR are those who represent prospective customers and manufacturers who are looking to improve their product through the addition a graphene. The first step is to make them aware of the world leading graphene production capability in Australia, with the advantages with respect to quality and cost FGR offers.

Attending these conferences can be a very productive exercise with many new contacts and relationships being opened. However, taking expressions of interest through to commercial dealings will always take time. While participants often come back highly enthused as to the possibilities and potential, focused follow-up is required. In this regard, the Company has more than twenty lead capture sheets on which follow up is required. FGR looks forward to advising shareholders of the outcomes as and when the initial expressions of interest become commercially significant and can be disclosed without breaching confidentiality provisions. This is all part and parcel of positioning FGR for growth in the exciting graphene business.
